Rock Solid Youth – January Update

14 January 2011

Happy New Year! ‘Get in shape’ is something many people have as one of their New Year’s resolutions. Just as the physical growth demands physical exercise, piritual growth, as a Christian, demands spiritual exercise. So, as we begin 2011, I have 7 daily ‘Jesus exercises’ to give you that will help you ‘get in shape’ spiritually. Below are 7 daily ‘Jesus exercises’ to help you build spiritual muscle. Do these everyday and you will grow strong in your Christian life.

1.Daily Die to Self.

“I die every day…in Christ Jesus our Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:31). Yield complete control of your life to Jesus Christ everyday.

2. Daily Obedience to Christ.

“Then he said to them all: if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). Every day commit yourself to obeying God and His Word!

3. Daily Bible Reading.

“…they examined the Scriptures everyday” (Acts 17:11). Spend time everyday reading God’s Word. If you don’t know where to start, start reading 1 John then hit the Gospels!

4. Daily Prayer.

“…give us today our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). Devote time everyday talking to God in prayer.

5. Daily Fellowship.

“Encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13). Get involved here at New Life and seek regular fellowship with other Christians.

6. Daily Witnessing.

“Day after day…they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ” (Acts 5:42). Witness for Jesus every day through your
words and actions.

7. Daily Praise.

“Seven times a day I praise you” (Psalm 119:164). Every day praise God for who He is and what He has done.
