As 2011 begins, we thank God for all the great things He has done for us this past year. Since the beginning of the Gateway to Heaven Prayer Ministry in January of 2010, we have experienced many glorious times in His presence, both in small groups in the Prayer Room and in corporate Nights of Prayer and Worship in the Sanctuary.

In addition to refreshing and encouraging us, God has also given us a deep sense of urgency concerning His purposes for this hour. In particular, as part of the mission of New Life Church to bring in the harvest, God has been speaking to us about equipping His people to recognize and operate in their individual callings and in the gifts of the Spirit. In line with this vision, we will be seeking God’s direction through the following:

Week of Prayer and Fasting

During the week of January 10-16, we will have a Church-wide Fast which will include 24/7 prayer and worship beginning immediately following Worship Service Sunday, January 9. Sign-up sheets for 24/7 prayer are in the Atrium. Various individuals and groups will also be leading worship both at Noon and 7:00 p.m. throughout the week.

Lighting Up the Family Altar

During the same week, we also encourage families in the church to increase in unity and rekindle their spiritual lives through daily praying together in their homes. Teaching our children to know the voice of God and to walk in intimacy with Him is the greatest inheritance we can give them. Let’s be certain that our own
households are strong in the Lord and following God’s plan so we can reach others for Him.
